The Cleveland Indians have joined together as more than a team. They have come together as compassionate human beings. The entire team and coaching staff want their utility man Mike Aviles to know they are there to support him through personal life struggles.
It was reported earlier this month that Aviles’ for-year-old daughter was diagnosed with leukekia. Aviles’ missed just over a week of games to be by his daughter’s side. The Indians want the Aviles family to know that they are in their corner supporting.
It started with a few team members shaving their head to show support for Aviles’ daughter, Adriana. The trend has caught on with the rest of the dugout. Many shaved heads can be seen up in #TheLand.
